Tegel: Speculations and Propositions

For the project Tegel: Speculations and Propositions, thirty artists were invited to produce new video works reflecting on Berlin's airport Tegel’s complex past and architecture, and speculating on its future.  We made a work entitled Both Statues have Wings which was first presented in Kino Babylon in June 2012 to mark the airport‘s scheduled closure.  Now the brilliant people at The Green Box have published a book with specially commissioned texts by eight writers, an interview with the architect Meinhard von Gerkan as well as a series of his drawings for the airport.  The book also include a DVD of a selection of 27 films.

Included is work by artists and writers: Hondartza Fraga, Miguel Santos, Liane Lang, Stella Flatten, Jon Klein, Karl Heinz Jeron, Bryan Eccleshall, Robert Gschwantner, Giorgio Cappozzo, Gill Hobson, Joachim Stein, Ashley Metz, Boris Riedel, Julie Westerman, Irene Pätzug, Natasja Keller, Stephan Hüsch, Águeda Simó, Michelle Atherton, Jeff Luckey, T.C.McCormack, Nick Crowe & Ian Rawlinson, Jamie Crewe, Dale Holmes, Gary Simmonds, Renata Kaminska, Robert Partridge, Jane Harris, Sharon Kivland, Amy Patton, Margarita Gluzberg, Jaspar Joseph-Lester, Karina Nimmerfall, Amanda Beech, Diane Bauer, Rachel Garfield, Janet Hodgson, Elka Falat, Maja Ciric, Frederica Bueti, Ben Hope, Ricarda Vidal, Julian Gough, Peter Adey, Sean Ashton.  Tegel: Speculations and Propositions is edited by Susanne Prinz, Jaspar Joseph-Lester and Julie Westerman and designed by Anja Lutz and is available from the usual outlets.  It can also be ordered direct from the publisher - here - for those who like to support independent publishers and don't particularly want to enrich Amazon (et al).
