Sustainable AestheticsFor several years we’ve been working on a body of sculpture which looks at the idea of “Sustainable Aesthetics.” These works are made reclaimed materials or from a mixture of shredded straw and waste paper which we pulp together with harvested rainwater to produce cast, pressed and built forms. Structures made from briquettes serve as shelters, enclosures or sometimes as walk-in cinemas. Smaller pieces are stand-alone sculptures or used as elements that are built into larger structures. The project asks what sustainability might look like and if we can learn to separate the experience of beauty from the allure of petro-resource consumption. More>>>> Sustainable
